Mark is an EXCELLENT Piano Teacher. My kids (16 yr old son & 10 yr old daughter) loved him! The only reason he's not teaching my kids now is that he moved from NY to Florida! Mark is patient, a great listener and a superb performer. With his guidance and skill as a teacher, he taught my kids how to enjoy performing when they played piano at recitals and competitions. The last piano competition he prepared my son for before moving to Florida resulted in my son playing at Carnegie Hall for the final round and winning a gold medal. Mark is extremely knowledgeable about all genres for music. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM AS A PIANO TEACHER FOR ALL LEVELS.
My two children studied with Mark for over 4 years and I have to say I couldn't be happier with the results. I could see/hear progress after each lesson they had with him and most importantly they found the joy of practicing daily. Both of my kids got the highest scores on their state exams and performed at Mark's studio recitals. He is so professional, patient and caring and I recommend him to anyone looking for a piano teacher.
Mark is an excellent teacher. First of all, he is very amiable and flexible. When he teaches, he looks at a big picture and start coaching from there, going into small details as well. He helps developing your unique feel for each music piece. For 14 months, I learned 6 musics from Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky. I also got to perform in front of the audience because Mark encourages students to practice these skills, to enjoy the music itself and to share it with others.
Mark has taught my daughter to play piano for almost 3 years. He is very attentive and patient, listens to his students and goes through the pieces selection with them. He also has a way to insert bits and pieces of music theory and history into each lesson. My daughter was always looking forward to Mark's lessons. He coached my daughter to participate in several solo competitions and she was able to perform at Merkin Hall in New York a couple of times. You or your child will definitely enjoy having piano lessons with Mark.
